Oh hai guys. Look, another round up post for you. I swear I’m not slacking. My entire life is currently in a box, or about to be in a box and I’m a hot mess. So I gathered a list of recipes that will probably make your 4th of July more delicious. Trust and believe.
Fried chicken with sweet potato waffles. These were the bomb. I made them for Memorial Day last year. So delicious.
Perhaps a lovely, and simple, grilled steak is more your style? Also delicious, and a far less chance of accidentally singing your hands with frying oil.
No cookout would be complete without baked beans, amiright? I prefer them jazzed up with bacon and bourbon, but that’s just me.
Maybe dessert is more your speed. I feel you. The majority of my blog is dessert. Let’s start out with a real easy one: fruit trifle. There’s no baking involved if you don’t want to.
Perhaps if you’re feelin’ fancy you can class it up and do a little more work and make a Bushwhacker trifle. Also delicious, but now with chocolate.
But let’s be real, we’re all into the “no-bake” desserts for the fourth so let’s move it to the stove-top for a hot second and talk about cake batter rice krispie treats. Just don’t be a fool like me and dump your sprinkles in the hot mallows, they turn a weird swampy color.
Or maybe coke floats are your thing? They’re my thing for sure. So whip up a batch of hot fudge and make yourself a classic bourbon float. Oh, it’s heavenly.
Perhaps you like your heat less contained? I’m with yah on that one. Campfires are awesome. So s’mores are also awesome by association.
But assuming you don’t want any fire involved, then maybe a popsicle is more your speed? This one comes with a bonus champagne drink as well. You’re welcome.
