Chitlins, I have literally done nothing exciting this week as I’m currently in the midst of a continuous 2 week work-week with only 2 days off..at either end of the week. I think I took a photo of the cat and maybe my brunch from two weeks ago.
On Wednesday I literally was outside for a grand total of 20 minutes – 15 of which were part of my morning commute, the other 5 being walking from my apartment to the car/car to the gym and back again. Allow me to wallow for a moment…..
So because I have been unable to experience the outside world I’ve been a heavy hitter roaming the internets. Check it out:
First, let’s talk art. A treasure trove of nearly 1,500 works of art were discovered in Germany….. 2 years ago, and the rest of the world is just finding out now. It’s guaranteed to be a very long and interesting saga.
When I was a kid I convinced my parents to buy me this interior design software that was meant for professionals (don’t even ask about the year I tried to pitch them on the Black & Decker Mouse), though I’m sure they were quite bemused by my request. As soon as I got it, I immediately went to work creating a mountain of dream homes, fully furnished and curated of course. To this day I have a weird voyeuristic obsession with house tours and the ladies over at A Beautiful Mess are totally fulfilling this obsession for me right now. Those kitchens?? Totally swoon worthy.
As much as I dislike Cosmo magazine, I think we can all agree that this States of Partying by Age is dead on accurate. Sometimes I wish I could text my cat, but to be honest he gets a full rundown when I get home anyway. I know he cares and likes to keep up with the gossip.
Can we talk about this infographic for a minute? I mean, I’m not exactly full of state pride or nothin’ but a PLAIN hamburger on WHITE TOAST with NO CONDIMENTS as “the best sandwich” from Connecticut? Are we for real? Also some of those sandwich names are downright unsavory.. “Loose Meat”, “Hot Brown”…No, thanks. I’ll pass.
And last but not least the latest edition of Jimmy Kimmel’s challenge “I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy” is up. It is both fearsome and hilarious. My favorite is the little kid who gives the thumbs up, “Oh good job!”
Things I pinned this week:
Holy sweets attack, Batman! I’m fairly certain that these rice krispie bars are what dreams are made of. For reals.
I always say I’m a bourbon girl but really what I mean is that I’m a bourbon in sweets girl. Straight bourbon is icky (please see age 23 in States of Partying, still holds true for me).
I’m in charge of dessert again this year for Thanksgiving and we have 16 people coming, which means I can make more than just pumpkin pie (thank goodness!). But now I’m conflicted and can’t decide what to make. I’m pinning basically everything at this point for inspiration. Help!
