Chitlins, I’m very excited to share these cocktails with you. First and foremost, they’re part of a collaboration I’m doing with School House Booze. These two lovely ladies from Canada found me on twitter and bless their souls I think we’re long lost booze sisters. I’m joining a team of “Supply Teachers” who hail from all parts of Canada and beyond to bring you all sorts of exciting spirits-filled recipes, history, and art. I mean seriously, can life get any better? I submit that it cannot!
Go check out their site if you haven’t already. It’s gearing up to be a great (school?) year!
Secondly, these photos were taken with my brand spankin’ new lens! Chitlins, I am the proud mama of a Sigma 50mm f/1.4 EX lens (affiliate link!) and I could not be giddier if I tried. Wait til you check out my flickr feed as I practice playing with my new lens.
Anyhoodles, let’s on to the recipe! I roasted up some strawbs for you. As the summer nears an end and the produce starts looking less chipper, but you’re still not ready to give up on it – that’s when you start roasting.
Or, when you buy that questionable pint of berries in the dead of winter because you cannot possibly face another mountain of snow that’s about to fall and how is it seriously not spring yet, and good lord this is the saddest ghost of a strawberry to ever grace this planet. That’s when you roast ’em.
So head on over to the school house and check out how you can pep up your strawbs with a nice hit of tequila (because duh) or champagne (because again, duh) and let me know what you think!
