Chitlins, it’s Year 2 of the Food Blogger Cookie Swap and can I just say that my cookies this year are WAAAAAY better looking than last years? Good lord what was I thinking last year. Not a good way to advertise your blog. They didn’t even have sprinkles! Eeyuck.
Chitlins, let me tell you a story. It goes like this: When I was younger my uncle got remarried, and I wasn’t totally stoked on the idea. I don’t know why, there was no reason to be upset about it. I just decided I was going to hold a grudge, because I was a snotty teenager.
I begrudgingly met his new wife at some family function and of course she’s as sweet as pie. Then she whips out two beautiful pies. A chocolate mousse and a lemon meringue. I overheard through other people talking that she actually made from scratch these two pies that were picture perfect. I was skeptical.
Actually, there’s nothing really inside out about this. I mean instead of chocolate on the outside in a glaze, I made it the cake. And instead of a white/vanilla cake I made a white chocolate vanilla glaze. So I guess it’s a backwards cake? I’m not really sure. I was really excited about it when I thought of it, though.
We are reporting to you live from the heart of Hurricane Sandy’s terror today. Did you guys know that even as an adult you can get “snow” days? It’s pretty rad. The mayor gave us a snow day by shutting down all the mass transit. Way cooler than Irene last year, because that was over a weekend.
Oh hai guys! I made more chocolate things. It seems to be all I’ve got on the brain lately. Which is totally weird for me, because I would not call myself a chocoholic by any means. If you name something “death by chocolate” you’ve pretty much guaranteed that I’m not going to try it.
But for whatever reason I’m pulling the ultra-girl card the last month or so and all I can think about is chocolate. And then all I want to do is listen to Jason Mraz and Michael Bublé, curl up in comfy clothes and watch endless episodes of House Hunters International with The BF. Ugh. I’m my own worst nightmare.
I’d like to alternately title this post, “Or How To Make Friends At Work.”
What up Chitlins? It’s been almost a whole week since I posted. Woopsie-daisy. I’m sure you’ll forgive me though when you see how insanely simple and freakin’ delicious these brownies are.
Oh hey guys! Did ya miss me? Judging by my blog numbers you did not. It’s cool though, no hard feelings. I mean, it’s the start of school, people are busy, everyone is busting their butts trying to soak up the last feeble rays of summer. I get it. Whatever. No really, I’m fine.
