Old School Chocolate Mousse Pie

Chitlins, let me tell you a story. It goes like this: When I was younger my uncle got remarried, and I wasn’t totally stoked on the idea. I don’t know why, there was no reason to be upset about it. I just decided I was going to hold a grudge, because I was a snotty teenager.

I begrudgingly met his new wife at some family function and of course she’s as sweet as pie. Then she whips out two beautiful pies. A chocolate mousse and a lemon meringue. I overheard through other people talking that she actually made from scratch these two pies that were picture perfect. I was skeptical.

Inside Out Boston Cream Pie

Actually, there’s nothing really inside out about this. I mean instead of chocolate on the outside in a glaze, I made it the cake. And instead of a white/vanilla cake I made a white chocolate vanilla glaze. So I guess it’s a backwards cake? I’m not really sure. I was really excited about it when I thought of it, though.

Bourbon Chocolate Malt Cupcakes

Oh hai guys! I made more chocolate things. It seems to be all I’ve got on the brain lately. Which is totally weird for me, because I would not call myself a chocoholic by any means. If you name something “death by chocolate” you’ve pretty much guaranteed that I’m not going to try it.

But for whatever reason I’m pulling the ultra-girl card the last month or so and all I can think about is chocolate. And then all I want to do is listen to Jason Mraz and Michael Bublé, curl up in comfy clothes and watch endless episodes of House Hunters International with The BF. Ugh. I’m my own worst nightmare.
